Moving and Sublime: Kapadia’s ‘The Sheep Thief’ (1997)

Watch this powerful, early short film by acclaimed UK filmmaker Asif Kapadia, director of the box-office hit Senna (2012).

The Sheep Thief details the journey and trials of a young orphan in rural India. Kapadia may have taken inspiration from the celebrated Indian Neo-Realist, Satyajit Ray (The Apu Trilogy).
